Meet the Founder

Mozart once said, “Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination nor both together go to the making of genius. Love, love, love, that is the soul of genius.”

Ella Ritchie couldn’t agree more. In 2012, she combined her love of great people and great content to establish Stellar Communications Houston. Her purpose was to bring joy and clarity to the world through business communication.

In 2015, Stellar Communications Houston expanded into nonfiction book publishing. Ella had spoken with self-published authors who were confused and unhappy. The team developed a smooth process that educated them on their options and met their needs – and the result was magical. The inaugural book, Contraflow, by Bill Herrington, received the 2017 Independent Publisher Book Award for Best Regional Nonfiction (South U.S.).

Since then, Stellar Communications Houston has had the privilege of producing or promoting more than 40 books for nonfiction authors, families, business leaders, and nonprofits. The team has grown to include professional graphic designers, photographers, writers, editors, proofreaders, printers, distributors, illustrators, and website developers. They genuinely love what they do.

Most days, you can find Ella sipping and scribbling her way through projects with a cup of black coffee and jazz music in the background. When she’s away from her desk, Ella and her husband enjoy teaching adult Bible study lessons together, ministering to single parents, and spending time with their four children and son-in-law – plus two grandbabies!
